Gabriella's Shenanigans

"Wow, you have your hands full!" This is something I hear frequently when I am out with my three kids. Gabriella certainly does her best to make my hands as full as possible. Today she danced her cute little bum off and, despite resignations about going in to dance, did her little performance with gusto and full adorable spunk. After dance, I had some errands to run, so I had brought a change of clothes with us to class. When I informed her that we were going to have to change before we could leave, she decided to strip down to her underwear in the middle of the waiting room. Some of the other moms didn't find it as funny as I did, I think.
Then it was time for lunch at Panera where Gabi immediately insisted upon a muffie to go with her meal. Hmmmmm. The bathroom break was equally eventful. Tomas was going potty when Gabriella decided she needed to do that as well. Off she went to the stall next to us, informing me that she did not need help..."I can do it all by myself." She soon informed me that she did indeed need some help. Small problem. She is in the stall without pants on, but she has locked the door. Will she be able to unlock the door before peeing on the floor/her shoes/whatever else? Whew...she did it! Once settled to go potty she said, "Can you please go away now?" Yes, Ma'm.

A New Passion!!!

Tomas has shown quite an interest in outer space recently. He particularly loves Jupiter, but overall just wants learn everything he possibly can! Last month, he got his first scholastic book order (more exciting for me because of the memories it brought up!). There were a few books that were interesting, but the few outer space books were screaming to be ordered.

Yesterday, there was a wonderful surprise in Tomas' backpack. Scholastic books!! I have such fond memories of getting those books at school and rushing home to enjoy them. Tomas started this enthusiasm also. He was so thrilled to see his surprise of new books in his backpack and has taken them everywhere since! He is proud to know all about outer space and enthusiastic to learn more.

It is also adorable to see him combine fantasy with reality. He was telling me yesterday that he wants to be an astronaut. Shortly thereafter, he asked if I would come with him to outer space because he is scared of the aliens. Gotta love him!!!

Our Little Stinker

I think I've written before that we often call Gabriella our little stinker. She has such a spunky little personality and often surprises me with what she says. Last night I gave the kids their water bottles (with juice in it, left from our trip back to NY). Well, Tomas took one sip and told me it was spicy. Hmmmmmmmm...shouldn't be. So I tried a sip, and BLECH! Fermented V8 Fusion. Gross! So I took both of the bottles, rinsed them, and put them in the dishwasher. As I was pouring something new to drink into glasses for them, Gabriella turned around in her chair, looked at me and said, "Where's my water bottle, stinker!" Wow did I fail at controlling the urge to laugh!!

When I Grow Up...

Tomas and I have periodically been watching the Tour de France since it's been on. He loves to see the bikers (finds crashes particularly interesting) and how fast they go. Yesterday, he made up a song about Andy Schleck, to the tune of "Gobble Me Up."
Today, Tomas informed me that he is going to be a bike racer and a doctor when he grows up. (Awesome kiddo!!) Then, on our way back from lunch, he otld me that when he grows up and is a chef he won't be with me anymore. I asked him if he would come ot visit. He said sure, but after he takes off his chef clothes. He informed me that he would then come to me and get his Panera clothes and then when he was done with those he would take them off and give them to someone else to wear. He told me he was going to be a very hard worker.

Little Gems

This week, Tomas has really started to bloom with funny things to say at all times. It is absolutely cracking me up, and I think I need to go to Barnes andNoble to buy a notebook (might as well get one for Gabi too) to write these litte things down.
A few examples:
"I don't believe in fairies, I believe in rock 'n roll!"

"Daddy, I farted like a roller coaster."

"I love you too, Mommy, but when I'm bigger, I won't love you anymore."

"So at Thanksgiving time, the baby is going to go in your leg, make a hole in your toe and be born?"

He is working so hard to figure everything out. I am so in love with that little boy!

Gabriella is not quite at the same stage but she is most definitely hilarious in her own right. Twice this week, Gabriella has awoken from her nap scraming like someone tore her arm off (No really, I'm not exaggerating. I nearly had a heart attack). What was going on, you ask? She heard the ice cream truck outside and was screaming, "Mommy, I hear ice cream bell. Mommy, Mommy!"
