The next American Idol

I can't remember if I shared this on here or not.  It was such a fun time watching our little Malificent.

Insights

Tomas, Gabi and I were snuggling on the couch after lunch and Tomas turned to me and said, "Mommy, should are tiny little ghosts that live inside our bodies and make us ourselves.  Couldn't have said it better myself buddy!

Update

So far he has peed on Elmo, then on Cookie Monster.  He was very concerned both times.  I'm going to take this as a good sign, suber it means he is aware of it happening.  Not sure he is ready for the full potty training treatment. If there is one thing I have learned...don't try to speed up the process too much out make it stressful because that doesn't work anyway!!

Potty training

He said potty, then he pooped, on the floor.  His reward was elmo underwear. The fun begins!!!

Watch the Orange Egg Bounce

Eggsperiments

We started with a normal egg and put it in vinegar.   The vinegar reacted with the calcium carbonate in the egg shell (fun bubbles to watch)  to dissolve it...now only the membrane is holding the egg together.  You can bounce it (just don't do it too hard, it is still an egg after all!)...we had to scrub the last remnants if the gooey shell off to get the desireed effect.  Osmosis had made the egg grown in size, another fun observation.
Next we made orange food coloring by mixing colors (seriously, the learning never ends), and let the egg (only one was left...bouncing too hard, heed the warning) sit for a while.  The membrane is still porous, turning the entire egg orange...a different color next time I think since eggs are already sort of orange, it wasn't as cool as green or blue would have been.
We were going to create a vacuum (using a match...thanks for the idea Heather) in a jar and suck the egg through the neck, then soak it in corn syrup to dehydrate it so we could get it out, but the kids wanted to break the egg...maybe next time.

Another Performer

While Kasey and I were hanging out I front of the house, the ice cream truck came by.  Kasey was digging the music and dancing for quite a while. This is just the tail end.  I love his hand motions and the cheesy grin at the end.  If only my phone would sync audio and visual...
